Comedian Dilruk Jayasinha, 37, reveals he was back on stage FIVE DAYS after suffering a heart attack

Dilruk Jayasinha last week suffered a shock heart attack at just 37 years old.

And the stand-up comedian has revealed he was back on stage just five days after the serious health scare.

The Celebrity MasterChef star told 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed and Erin on Thursday he had an ’80 per cent’ blockage in a crucial artery known as ‘the widowmaker’.

‘They call that artery, it’s the anterior artery, I think they call it “the widowmaker,”‘ Dilruk told radio hosts Ed Kavalee, Dave Hughes and Erin Molan.

The I’m a Celebrity alum was first concerned about a potential health issue when he felt ‘a little pinch’ in his left arm.

‘I started feeling a little tightness in my chest… it’s as tiny as that,’ he said.

After initially being told ‘everything looks great’, hospital ER doctors found an enzyme in Dilruk’s blood ‘that usually only shows up when you’re having a heart attack’.

Following more tests, the funnyman was told ‘this is [a] proper heart attack’.

However, he didn’t let it hold him back, appearing on stage for a stand-up set just five days later – a recovery time frame endorsed by his doctors.

‘I thought it was pretty funny I can have a heart attack and I’m back on stage in five days, but if I get a positive RAT test that’s seven days!’ he joked.

Last year, Dilruk almost made it to the grand finale of Celebrity MasterChef.

Having only developed a passion for cooking in recent years, Dilruk was proud of himself and he took the experience in his stride.

‘I can’t wipe the smile off my face. Honestly, I’ve way passed my expectations of myself. I’m just so chuffed right now,’ he said after being sent home from the competition one week before the final.
