Corrie’s Michelle Collins left toothless in middle of panto after suffering horror injury | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV
Michelle Collins, 59, was rushed to an emergency dentist following a mishap while performing in panto this Christmas. The EastEnders and Corrie actress admitted her front tooth fell out while she was on stage, leading to panic backstage.
The actress is well-known for playing Cindy Beale in EastEnders and Stella Price in Coronation Street.
However, it was her latest role that saw her suffering some health issues.
While performing as the Nightshade in Beauty And The Beat, she lost her tooth.
This left her and her co-star Chris Jarvis scrambling backstage to fix the issue.
Earlier this month, she urged locals to come along and support panto during a “tough time”.
She told the Bournemouth Echo: “I think it’s really tough trying to do a panto in Covid because it’s completely different from olden times.
“We’re all having to wear masks, we take Covid tests every day, we only have two understudies and we’re all in bubbles, we know how important it is that we’re safe as well as protecting the audience.”
She added: “I just feel everyone’s had a really tough couple of years and we just need some fun and some joy in our lives, some nice singing and dancing, silly jokes and some evilness from me.
“I would say don’t be scared just be safe but still come.”
Elsewhere, the star will be appearing on a celebrity special of The Weakest Link tomorrow on the BBC.
This sees her taking on the challenge of raising money for charity in the rebooted show.
Now hosted by comedian Romesh Ranganathan, she’ll be up against fellow stars.
As with the previous format, contestants will try to answer as many questions right as possible to bank money.
Each round, the stars will choose who they think is the weakest link and should be sent home.
