This Morning legend and author Fern Britton, 64, left fans taken aback when she announced her split from her husband of almost 20 years, Phil Vickery, 60, in January 2020. However, the star seems to have bounced back quickly, as she was able to poke fun at herself over her single life during a new interview.
Fern appeared on actor Michael Fenton Stevens’ My Time Capsule podcast and made a cheeky joke about her uneventful sex life since her marriage breakdown.
Channel 5’s Watercolour Challenge host shared the unexpected admission while discussing celebrities she has met during her career in showbusiness that left her starstruck.
Host Michael quizzed Fern on stars that she had always admired, saying: “You must have had experiences through your career then when those people have suddenly turned up in front of you.
“Did you turn into the young girl you were?”

Fern responded by recalling her meeting with British fashion designer Dame Mary Quant, 91, at a party after she became obsessed with her make-up range in her youth.
The star explained: “She had a make-up range called ‘make-up to make love in’ and, of course, I was very young.
“So I wasn’t into sex at that particular time…
“I’m not much now either, but anyway!” Fern mischievously quipped.
Fern previously insisted that she is not planning on dating any time soon after her marriage to This Morning chef Phil came to an end last year.
The writer insisted she is content with her cats and dog keeping her company at the moment.
Fern said in a chat with Carol Kirkwood, 59, for online platform Fane.co.uk: “One of my cats, Bob, you feel something in the night, then you get a paw and a few claws and then he whispers in your ear, ‘I don’t know if you are aware of it but it’s almost 4am and I am hungry’.
“And it is every morning and that is Bob. So I have Bob and Brandy and she is an absolute b***h.
