Lisa Wilkinson posts photos from luxury holiday at Eden Health Retreat, Queensland
“So good for the soul”: The Project host has shared details of her week-long holiday in a luxury health retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Sunday Project host Lisa Wilkinson has enjoyed a much-needed break over the past week, slipping away to a luxury wellness retreat in Queensland.
The 62-year-old media personality shared a series of snaps from her recent holiday, tagging five-star resort Eden Health Retreat, which offers seven-night packages for up to $11,375 per person in its top-of-the-line Cascade Lodge. On the lower end of the scale, Eden offers seven nights in a deluxe double lodge for just under $8000 for two people.
“Mud bath anyone?,” Wilkinson wrote on Instagram beneath an image of her slathered in mud and smiling widely.
“Back from hols after a week of healthy food, fresh air, mountain walks, rockpool swims, new friends, lots of reading, no internet, yes, baking in mud, and even jumping off cliffs (ok, a small hillside) in QLD’s stunning Currumbin Valley. So good for the soul,” she wrote, thanking the company along with a cheeky request for its “Choc Coconut Bounty Bars”.
Among the series of photos was a laksa recipe, a photo of the retreat’s mineral pool, and footage of the Channel 10 star ziplining through the lush treetops.
While he didn’t feature in any of the photos, Wilkinson’s husband, author Peter FitzSimons, is understood to have joined her for the trip, with a fellow holiday-maker commenting: “So fabulous meeting you & @peter_fitzsimons & experiencing the beautiful @eden_health_retreat Bliss!!! And oh those Choc Coconut Bounty Bars!”
Set amid the rainforests of Currumbin Valley in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Eden Health Retreat, which underwent a multimillion-dollar upgrade in January 2021, has been a hit with celebrities over the years, including sportswear designer Pip Edwards and PR maven Roxy Jacenko.
Eden offers guests a chance to unwind in a smoke, alcohol, caffeine and tech-free environment, with rooms starting at $1950 per person for a three-night stay.
Wilkinson’s getaway came after a tumultuous time for the TV star.
The former Today host made headlines in March for taking a dig at a “creepy” photographer who snapped her dining solo in Melbourne, with the accompanying Daily Mail article making repeated mention of the fact that she was “alone” as she “sipped margaritas”.
“I think you’re there by yourself. You might want to go grab a margarita,” comedian Peter Helliar had said as Wilkinson wrapped up her report.
“Yeah, I will. I definitely will,” said Wilkinson, smiling.
“There’s a lone bar stool in the corner for all the lonely women who eat and drink all by themselves.
“So it’s got my name written all over it, Pete.”
The photographer, outing himself as “Steve”, hit back in a furious open letter a few days later.
After her restorative stay, Wilkinson was back to it on The Project last night, going to air hours after the Federal Election was called.
“Scott Morrison has had a pretty shocking run lately he’s down in all the opinion polls, but he’s pulled off miracles before like that 2019 win that no one thought he could do,” Wilkinson said.
“Could he do it again?”
Political commentator Barrie Cassidy responded that his “chances are slim, at best,” given how behind the Liberal Party is in the polls.
